She-Hulk Gets a Perfect New Villain for Double-Sized Landmark Problems
After an earth-shattering 175 issues with She-Hulk, one of Marvel's most popular superheroes gets a terrifying new villain.

Marvel's She-Hulk is celebrating a major milestone with a huge issue, along with a new mysterious villain. The character is easily one of the company's most beloved heroines, and the arrival of her Disney+ show will only add to Jennifer Walters' popularity. Now, Marvel has revealed the creative team behind She-Hulk's latest adventure and released details about a new villain: The Villain.
She-Hulk 2022, directed by Rainbow Rowell, immediately brought the character back to her roots and broke new ground in She-Hulk storytelling. Jennifer Walters returns to New York to reconnect with Janet Van Dyne, resume her practice, and reunite with Jack of Hearts, who was once thought dead. Jack's powers had dissipated, and the two remained in touch for most of the time, eventually developing into a romantic relationship. Unfortunately, fate was not on She-Hulk's side, as two mutated Hulk fans attempted to capture Jennifer and use Jack's powers to give them Hulk-like abilities. In the last issue, She-Hulk even lashed out at her own writers (and readers) for pressuring her to never find happiness in her life.
According to a release on Marvel's own website, writer Rainbow Rowell will be collaborating with artist Andres on the latest issue Genolette (the two had previously collaborated on Marvel's Runaways comic series). "This April, in SHE-HULK #12, She-Hulk's promising new superhero journey will be threatened by a dangerous new archenemy named Scoundrel!" Marvel wrote. "Just in time for her 175th solo magazine, She-Hulk will meet her counterpart in a wild duel that will have all her fans buzzing!"
A New Villain Is Coming To She-Hulk Lore After 175 Issues

Rowell wrote that she One of the main goals of She-Hulk is to expand She-Hulk's supporting cast. "One of the things we focused on was building Jen's narrative support structure...to her friends, colleagues, lovers, and her own counterpart. Scoundrel was a tailor-made counterpart for Jennifer Walters. For Jen, many things It came easy. Nothing is easy about Scoundrel.” Indeed, Rowell’s action includes a brief run-in with the villainous Titania, but mostly focuses on new characters and long-lost supporting cast, like Jack of Hearts. A brief detour to the Fantastic Four: Reckoning crossover hasn't stopped the narrative in the books, and She-Hulk's new series has been wildly popular with fans so far.
Little information is available about the Scoundrels, but they will be tested if they bear any resemblance to She-Hulk's other memorable villains Jennifer's brains and brawn. Bruce Banner's best Hulk villains are usually smart and strong (and sometimes completely lacking in physical strength, like the Hulk's leader), and Jennifer Walters is no exception. She-Hulk's iconic installment is sure to be a hit with fans, and the character's adventures are only just beginning in 2023 and beyond.
