MCU's Kang actor wants to fight Chris Hemsworth's Thor in Avengers 5
Jonathan Majors has revealed that he wants Kang the Conqueror to fight Chris Hemsworth's Thor Odinson in the upcoming movie Avengers: Reign of Kang.
Jonathan Majors wanted Avengers: Reign of Kang to include a fight scene between his character Kang the Conqueror and Thor (Chris Hemsworth). Kang was only introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) last year in the Disney+ series Loki. Although he's new to the MCU, he's already a big part of the MCU's future. He'll be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Fever in 2023, but he'll be another variant of Kang rather than the He Who Remains variant from Loki. The variant in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania appears to be a darker version of Kang. As such, the movie could set up a deeper villain arc for Kang that could culminate in Avengers: Reign of Kang.
In an interview with Nerdbunker, Majors revealed that he wanted Kang to fight Thor in the fifth Avengers film. While Kang has already been slated to take on the Avengers, the Majors have expressed interest in taking on Thor directly one-on-one. The idea of Kang fighting is also interesting, since his Loki variant isn't quite a violent character. Instead, he's tired and philosophical From creating the TVA to keeping peace in the multiverse. Majors' interest in hand-to-hand combat hints at how different Kang's variant is from He Who Remains. Check out his statement and interview below:
"I think we have to start with [fighting] Thor. Yeah, come on. Bring it. Come. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m not afraid of Chris Hemsworth."
How Would Thor Hold Up Against Kang?

Now that Majors brought up the idea of a Thor vs. Kang showdown, it's fun to assume who would win. Thor has proven to be a very worthy opponent in the past. In battles with the likes of Thanos (Josh Brolin), Hela (Cate Blanchett), and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), he nearly saved himself. What makes him such a worthy opponent in any fight is the basic fact of his physiology. He is a god and member of the nearly immortal race of Asgardians, endowed with superhuman strength, speed and durability. Plus, he can manipulate thunder/lightning and use a magic hammer. Needless to say, there are few opponents Thor can't face.
Meanwhile, Majors is a very different character from Thor. He is not a god, nor does he have inner superhuman strength. However, his power comes from his genius-level intelligence and advanced technology. his time travel gave him Get in touch with 40th century technology. He used it to build an extremely powerful suit of armor that gave him superhuman strength and stamina, as well as the ability to project force fields and manipulate energy. As such, both Thor and Kang are very powerful characters in Marvel comics.
Despite Kang's impressive strength, it is likely that Thor will rival Kang. He's held his own among threats similar to Kang's, an otherworldly presence whose power has grown exponentially since his first MCU debut. Especially if he's backed by Stormbreaker or Mjolnir, it's hard to imagine him losing to Kang. Of course, given all of Kang's technical advantages, it's still an interesting and fairly close fight. Maybe defeating Kang in Avengers: Reign of Kang is Thor finally needing to forgive himself for the guilt he had for failing to defeat Thanos when he had a chance.
