Star Wars Still Has 1 Big Ahsoka Mystery To Solve

From The Clone Wars to The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka has been at the center of multiple Star Wars stories - but there are still gaps in Ahsoka's timeline.

Star Wars: Jedi Legends continues the Star Wars tradition of revisiting Ahsoka through different points in his journey, but Star Wars has yet to solve one of Ahsoka's great mysteries. Appearing in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) as Anakin's apprentice never mentioned in the film, Ahsoka went from a "scout role" to one of the most important figures in the Skywalker saga . Despite being pivotal to the events of The Clone Wars, Ahsoka's story continues at least two other Star Wars eras - the Age of Empire and the Age of the New Republic, meaning it will be some time before Star Wars reveals Ahsoka's full timeline .

From the Clone Wars battle of Christophsis to the Book of Boba Fett to Luke's Jedi Academy, Ahsoka has seen the Empire rise and fall. However, while Ahsoka helped the Rebels fight the Empire prior to the Star Wars: Rebels season 2 finale, there is a lot of speculation about Ahsoka's role between Twilight of the Apprentice and the Rebels season 4 finale. Little is known about what happened. "Twilight of the Apprentice", Ahsoka technically travels to the future, but then returns to her original timeline It follows, taking place years before the events of A New Hope, while Rebels' epilogue takes place after the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi. In other words, it's not clear where Ahsoka was during the events of the original trilogy.

The Original Trilogy Is Still The Biggest Gap In Ahsoka’s Timeline

When Disney bought Lucasfilm, the last memory audiences had of Ahsoka was Anakin's apprentice walking into the sunset after choosing to leave the Jedi Order. Aside from a brief appearance in a vision of Yoda in The Clone Wars Season 6, Ahsoka will only return in the Star Wars Rebels season 1 finale. Since then, the now fan-favorite character has appeared frequently in multiple Star Wars stories, including but not limited to The Clone Wars Revival, The Mandalorian Season 2, and The Book of Boba Fett. Ahsoka has more screen time than some of the oldest characters in Star Wars, but the series still hasn't resolved the crucial question of where Ahsoka was during the events of the original trilogy's problems.

Will The Ahsoka Series Explain Why Ahsoka Didn’t Help Luke?

Oddly, Star Wars also skips the moment when Ahsoka and Luke first meet. Ahsoka Tano and Luke Skywalker Appear in the Same Scene for the First Time Since The Boba Fett Books Ahsoka's creation, but it's clearly not the first time Ahsoka and Luke have interacted. If the Ahsoka series revisits the moment Ahsoka and Luke met, then it could also reveal why Ahsoka didn't help Luke and the Rebel Alliance after the Death Star's destruction. Despite hiding from Darth Vader and the Inquisitor, Ahsoka wasn't afraid to help the Ghost and the rest of the Rebel crew years before A New Hope - which means something must have changed after Twilight of the Apprentice.

The Ahsoka in the Star Wars Rebels season 4 epilogue is significantly different from the Ahsoka in the Rebels season 2 finale. From clothes to staff, Ahsoka appears to be smarter, more experienced, and stronger than herself fighting Darth Vader. Ahsoka likely went on some sort of Force-guided journey after fighting her former master, meaning she wasn't ready to fight again until years later. Fortunately, Ahsoka is now back in the post-Star Wars Return of the Jedi timeline, on a mission to find Thrawn and fulfill her promise to Ezra Bridger.
